As mentioned in my previous review, I bought the first one years after reading it in the library one day. Immediately after reading it (actually, it probably before I was even done) I bought this one. Not a mistake. The characters have grown organically. The plot has gained in complexity. More secrets are revealed. It gets much ... more ... interesting.
Again, not a fan of the pointless mother, but that goes without saying.
Also, again, great role models without bad language (except for G-d), not too much violence, perfect for children without any worries. Great read!

Fun, entertaining, and great for all ages.
This is a really good book. Like, extremely good! Definitely NOT some cheesy fairy tail. This book is filled with comedy, adventure, and I have to admit there is a little middle school romance. Shelby did it again with this second book. I can't wait to see what will happen next to Rory, Chase, and Lena!
I just bought this book last night, and I haven't stopped reading since. I am now done with this extra-ordinary book of Bach's. Bach's writing style always keeps you on your toes. A big secret is revealed, much to Chase 's discomfort. Of Witches and Wind has a dramatic plot, interesting new "Character's", and major surprises. You can count me in with the group waiting with baited breath for the next book. Keep up the amazing work Shelby Bach, and you'll soon be up there with Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. I, as a fan of all three series, can assure you that.
My 11yo loves the book. She's been reading non stop. I bought each book as she got closer to finishing the previous one.
Excellent sequel to Of Giants and Ice! The first book in this series blew me away and this book did the same. I find the characters to be extremely 3D with real world problems and believable reactions to the completely insane situations they sometimes end up in. The prose ran so smoothly I finished this book in two sittings because I kept losing track of time! I cannot wait for book three!
My daughter loved the Percy Jackson series as well as Harry Potter and we were glad to somewhat accidentally stumble upon this series.

I also read these books and found them better than Percy Jackson and similar to Harry Potter. Once you start reading, you cannot stop, and it is great how they tie the plots to common fairy tales. This has inspired us to re read some fairy tales and think about them in a new light!

Can't wait for book 3!
After reading the Percy Jackson series, I've been looking for something even half as good.

Ever After series did not disappoint me! The characters are enjoyable and funny. The plot is smooth and keeps my interest from the very beginning.

Rory is also an amazing heroine. She's tough yet sensitive and it's great to see her go through things normal kids go through, like divorce, even as she fights monsters. You really feel for her as you read and I couldn't help but cry a few times at the raw and totally relatable emotions she goes through.

Highly recommend this as well as the first book. The only thing that disappoints me is that the third book isn't out yet.
