Something Maybe Elizabeth Scott Lisa Fyfe Books

I love Elizabeth Scott! This is the fifth Scott book I've read in a marathon of pulp consumption, the others being: Perfect You; Bloom; Love You Hate You Miss You; The Unwritten Rule. Again, Elizabeth Scott accurately captures the voice of a teenager, both in narrative and dialogue. Her prose are simple, straightforward and meaningful.

Hannah, the protagonist in this novel, has found in her co-worker and classmate a perfect match, or so she thinks. Fixated on not becoming like her mother, a d-list actress and web-cam show host, and her father, an aging, erotica media-magnate, she has developed a crush on unattainable Josh who she believes to be a sensitive, intellectual. Finn, her other co-worker, is ever the goofball but it's clear from the onset is the better match.

Though predictable, Ms. Scott's novels are so immersing you simply don't care that you know where the story is going. But what's truly neat about her books is that on your journey you discover little treasures you hadn't been expecting. I think that's what makes these novels so rich and vibrant. Elizabeth Scott adds a layer of depth and emotion to her characters that makes the stories she writes about so much more than what you think it going to be. Every character is fleshed out and beautifully recognized, maintaining a distinct voice and personality.

Something, Maybe is essentially a story about self-discovery and finding love. But there's more lingering under the surface. The story is also about our expectations of family and navigating the complex world of the parent-child relationship. What Hannah discovers over the course of this novel is that people will disappoint and fail you, they may never live up to your expectations and will oftentimes put their needs before your own. But Hannah also learns that fear can be crippling and that love is more than a four letter word, it's about the chances you take and the sacrifices you make.

This is a fun, funny, sharp, sometimes caustic, but always poignant coming of age novel. I highly recommend it!

Something Maybe Elizabeth Scott Lisa Fyfe Books Reviews

One of the best books i have read in a long time. Loved the ending! Have a great twist to it!!
This is my favorite Elizabeth Scott book. It is sooo cute! Its an addicting and fast read for any time in the year!
It is much easier to read on your and she loves to read, I would recommend because it can carry all the books you want on your
I never get tired of ready all of Elizabeth Scott's book. They just make me smile. You will love this title.
I will have to say that this was an o.k. book. It seems to repeat itself sometimes and is a little slow. I also thought that the book was predictable and had the plot figured out within the first few chapters. It was a good book but I would have rather checked it out from the library than have bought it.
This is my first book from the author. There were some real emotional moments, but I think I had higher expectations. I saw that it was recommended by Sarah Dessen, one of my best authors, but it doesn't meet the standard of Sarah's books. The plots were not descriptive enough and unlike a really good book that I can't put down, I took a long time to finish this small book. Not horribly but nothing memorable.
I'm a sucker for these kinds of books. I loved the story around the romance too. I really did feel bad for Hannah as she crushed on a guy who didn't really see her (at least at first) and to have the father that she has. I really do think it was the storyline behind her parents (mostly her father) that really reeled me in.

Hannah doesn't have a perfect father. Most of the time, it's like she doesn't have one at all, since she hasn't talked to him in 5 years or so. I liked the Hugh Hefner like story behind her dad. Well, not liked, because I felt bad for Hannah, but I thought it was compelling on Hannah's part as she tries to come to terms with who she is, not who her parents are.

This was sweet and charming. And I think Hannah ends up with just the right guy (even if she didn't know it at first). This is my second Elizabeth Scott book, but now I'm dying to get my hands on more of her stories. I highly recommend both author and book.
